** We need to decide SOON if we want to go to the GEMUN conference in Dallas. If you would like to go, please bring a check for $27 made out to GEMUN and the signed permission slip from you parents to next Thursday's meeting.
***We also need to start fundraising to be able to afford the bus and hotel. The sooner we start making money, the less you will have to pay in May!

I think we should try and raise money to go to the Dallas Conference.
I would love to go to the conference in Dallas. I think it would be really fun! I think we have the ability to raise a lot of money!

As treasurer, it is my job to coordinate with the funraiser to ensure we have the necessary money on ahnd for whatever we may need it for. I'm estimating that for a bus and lodging for 30 people, it might cost (MIGHT) $1,00-$1,500. If we make $250 per fundraiser, and we have 6 fundraisers in a year, we would make $1,500 JUST from fundraisers. However, consider the fact that perhaps our fundraiser is creative enough a person thatwe make more than $250 from each fundraiser. And consider the fact that it won't be just fundraisers that will pay for the MUN's needs. Unfortunately, if we don't make the necessary cash from our fundraisers, we ourselves (and of course our parents) will contribute to the monetary needs of the Lanier MUN. So we ill be able to make it to Dallas, but only if we start fundraising as soon as possible (and that means NOW) to make the money. Alex, I think you need to get those neurons firing and cook up an idea for a fundraiser by our next MUN meeting on 11/8. Not to pressure you, but I think you ought to make a list of possible fundraisers, and we'd vote on which one seems the most feasible and that is the most likely to generate the most revenue. Does anyone reading have connections that will allow them to find out the interests of the Lanier student body? If so, could you find out what most people like, so that we can incorporate that into a fundraiser? Thank you very much and hi ho hi ho it's off to Dallas we go!
